Busy Mom Workouts With Aaptiv

If you are a busy mom like me finding time to workout is something that I struggle with. Especially while being a stay at home mom, I don’t really have someone that can watch my son so I can go to the gym (at least not consistently anyway). That is why I am so glad I discovered the Aaptiv app which is perfect for busy moms.


What It Is
The Aaptiv app is an on demand audio fitness app. There are 19 different trainers and a bunch of different classes based on what you want to train for as well as different difficulty levels. All the classes are built using high intensity training (HIIT) which is great for busy moms like me that don’t have a ton of time to work out each day. They offer everything from marathon training to strength training to meditation. Personally, I am loving the meditation programs which have been helping me wind down after some very long days with a very active toddler.



The Programs
They offer different programs and challenges on the app such as 7 minute quick hits. These quick workouts are all less then 7 minutes long and really help you get a good burn so if you are crunched for time at least you are getting something in. A couple days when I was dealing with a cranky toddler I was able to pick and choose a couple different ones to do then tried to complete as many as I could before I was interrupted. By doing this I was able to get in a good 20 minute workout before he needed something.

Another program that I found on the app is the maternity program. I love that they have this especially since we are trying to have another baby. When I was pregnant with Ray I did not workout at all partly because I had been working out so much prior to having him and I was not sure what types of workouts would be safe to do while pregnant. This program follows targeted trimester training and is a 40 week program. It is 4 classes a week (two strength and two cardio) as well as a post pregnancy stroller series. I absolutely love the idea that I can really keep up with a program throughout a pregnancy. Especially when the trainers are certified in prenatal workouts.

Another great part about this app is that you are able to download classes so they are stored in your phone. This is great if you want to do a class like the outdoor running and do not want to use your data.

I think that as a busy mom that does not have the time to get to a gym this is an excellent option. I find that the best part is that it is all audio so I do not have to try and watch a video. I am able to get up in the morning, go down to my basement, put my headphones in and get my workout done all before my little man wakes up. The trainers are very inspiring and the music is great. I love having a trainer in my ear telling me what to do and when to do it. No more trying to get my stopwatch to work or find some music to workout to.
