Personally I am a summer girl all the way but for some reason I am super excited about fall this year. I am not sure if it is because we have not really had a super hot summer and we have just been coasting along or if it is because I am a mom now and fall means the start of some fun and different things to do with Ray. This past week, however, has been the hottest week of our summer (imagine that). But now that the weather has started to get cooler and I am starting to see the leaves changing colors I am really to embrace this season. So here is my list of what I am super excited about for fall!
- Pumpkin Spice Everything
I love pumpkin cookies and muffins. See my recipe for pumpkin spice muffins that are a quick and amazing recipe that is super easy. I have yet to try any sort of pumpkin spice coffee since I just really started to like coffee this past year or so. Ever since my brother got us a Keurig. I am really excited to try one and hopefully really like it.
- Fall Fashions
I am loving all the fall trends that I keep seeing. I especially love the chunky sweaters and cardigans. I cannot wait to pull all of mine out and start wearing them again. I am also really excited that loafers and ankle boots are going to be big for fall. I am obsessed with a shoe trend that I already have some shoes for. (Check out my post about switching your summer looks into fall here.)
- Going to the Pumpkin Patch
This year I think it is going to be super fun to go pick out pumpkins. Now that Ray is older and seems to understand more of what is going on I know that this year is going to be a lot more fun seeing everything. We have a great pumpkin patch in our town that is super kid friendly. Ray used to go there with his daycare the past couple years but now that he is home with me we are going to get grandma to go with us this year.
- Fall Decor
Just the smell of the candles that make your home so cozy this time of year. I love all the warm colors throughout all the decor. For me I only decorate a little bit for halloween in October but most of my decorations and decor for this time of year are just fall related. I love being able to change my home into some place cozy for the holidays. That is until December hit when we go all out in Christmas decor!
What are some of your favorite things to do in fall? Now that Don and I are not in college anymore tailgating is not on this list. However, when little man gets a little older I have a feeling that tailgating and football games is going to make it back on my list of favorites but until then I am enjoying this season of jumping into leaf piles and carving pumpkins!
