5 Great Kids Books (For Toddler Who Can’t Sit Still)

For my baby shower we had asked people to bring books instead of cards for baby Ray in order to start his book collection. Now we have so many books that we are constantly having to go through them and figure out what ones we can put away for a while since they won’t all fit in his bookshelf. After seeing all the different books that are out there for kids I have found some to be great and some not so great.

A lot of the books that he gets that I love and he has me reading them over and over again are from Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. This is a great program where you can sign your child up to receive one book a month until they are five. We signed Ray up a little while after he was born. Now he loves that he gets books in the mail every month. I thought that this would be something where the books would be ones that I have never heard of but it is not at all like that. The first book he got was The Little Engine that Could by Watty Piper. Some of our favorite books have come from this program!

If you are wanting some good books to read for your kids here is my Top 5 list of kids books that we have been reading recently. (Note:  3 out of 5 of these books were from the Imagination Library)

  1. Following Papa’s Song by Gianna Marino
  2. I Am A Rainbow by Dolly Parton
  3. How Do You Hop So High? Disney’s Winnie the Pooh
  4. I’ll Teach My Dog 100 Words by Michael Frith
  5. Night-Night Forest Friends by Annie Bach
